This must have been taken on a "clear day" because back then Denver's air was generally so polluted that you couldn't see the foothills, let along Mt. Evans on the Continental Divide.
Regarding East Colfax, it's still the same porn-filled, prostitute-filled, crime-ridden stretch of road now as it was back then.
Nothing comes free. We were like happy blind hogs rooting around for free nuts. It was all so easy but now our kids are paying for the "good times" we enjoyed at their expense.
Nice collection of photos. As depressing as some of them are, they do point out that much of what we face today is not all that new. Amazingly, government efforts like the EPA did cause progress to be made on some environmental issues. Life somehow does go on. Thanks for posting these!
God help us all! What we humans hath wrought to this once beautiful planet, well there are no words to express the sadness.
